Mekies to replace Tost as AlphaTauri F1 team principal at the end of 2023

AlphaTauri announced that Tost will step down as team principal at the end of the 2023 season and that Mekies will succeed him back to the Italian team and will join the team at an undisclosed date.

Additionally, former FIA executive director Peter Beyer will join AlphaTauri later this season as its CEO, with responsibility for overseeing the strategic direction of the team’s facilities in Italy and the UK.

Tost has been in charge of the team since 2006 and was appointed by Red Bull GmbH following the acquisition of the Minardi team in late 2005.
